Part 1 GP: Discovering Our Hidden Hardwood Floors

Just before Christmas I decided I was tired of waiting to see what our floors looked like.  So, off I went to our smallest, unused room (aka The Guinea Pig Room) and I found a corner of the carpet unattached to the floor and just yanked.  Imagine my surprise to find three layers of carpet sitting on top of (insert gasp here) hardwood floors.

Isn't that just the greatest rose carpet, said no one ever lol.  I had to break it the Old Man what I did so he could tell me what condition he thought the floor was in.  Woot woot - they are going to be doable!!  However, he informed me I was working backwards - I was supposed to work from top to bottom so as not to make the floor take longer.  OOPS!

After working in this room for a few weeks (my full-time job doesn't give me a lot of "free" time) I really wish I would've left that carpet in there until at least the walls were done.  I'll show you why in my next post Demoing the "Guinea Pig" Room

Rick's daughter came home to visit for the holidays....so the demo had to wait until it was safe to do.  [She has to walk through this room to get to hers....for now (wink, wink)]

Tomorrow I have a surprise in store with Part 2 GP: Removing the Paneling
